Viral Video: With almost everything going ‘high-tech’, it's only natural for people to expect a certain amount of upgrade in every advanced service that they are being served. And the same goes for the food industry as well. But this restaurant in Bangalore, according to the netizens, went backward in time despite using a Hi-Tech Dosa machine for making the dish. A video of the food outlet using a Hi-Tech dosa machine in the IT hub of India went viral and left the internet irked for more reasons than one. In the video, the vendor was seen using a broom to clean the tawa, while he also used a high amount of ghee for making the dosa. Pointing out the same, most netizens began to chastise the food outlet and ‘called them out’ for serving ‘unhealthy’ dosa..
The viral video was shared on the social media platform Facebook, by the handle ‘Thefoodiebae’. The post was captioned, “Crazy Rush for Most Hi-Tech Dosa of Bangalore.”
As soon as the video surfaced online, people began to point out the amount of ghee used and the use of broom for cleaning the tawa, making the video go viral. Many also criticised the restaurant for not considering the health of their customers and called them ‘selfish’ for making it extremely ‘unhealthy’. The clip was shared four days ago and pulled 110K likes from netizens.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their say. “It is a pity how Statin drug companies have driven our thinking and demonising Ghee. Refined carbs (rice) cause more harm than animal fat and saturated fat (ghee). The Dosa master is clever. Refined carbs (rice batter) combined with (typically fried in) animal fat (Ghee) is very addictive. Take for example butter toast, French fries (originally lard fried) and Pongal. Knowingly or unknowingly, the Dosa master is almost deep frying refined carb in animal fat. BTW, animal fat gives highest satiety than any other food,” a user said.
“Most Hi-Tech Dosa of Bangalore using jadoo (broom) to clean the tawa at the same time using excessive oil for the customer to visit doctor soon. Nothing hi-tech about this,” added a second person. “Dont they realize, using this much ghee harm the health of the consumer? To make money and sell things, how come they produce such products?” joined a third.
