Bengaluru Entrepreneur Viral Post: A simple idea by a Mumbai auto driver has caught a lot of attention on LinkedIn after a Bengaluru entrepreneur shared his story. Rahul Rupani, co-founder of VenueMonk, met this auto driver near the US Consulate in Mumbai and found out how he makes between Rs 5 to 8 lakh every month, without even driving his auto. Rahul was there for his visa appointment when he was told by security that he couldn’t take his bag inside. There were no lockers and no other options. "I was outside the US Consulate this week for my visa appointment, when security told me I couldn’t carry my bag inside. No lockers. No suggestions. Just: “Figure it out,” Rahul wrote in the post.

Standing outside, confused, an auto driver came up to him and said, “Sir, bag de do. Safe rakhunga, mera roz ka hai. Rs 1,000 charge hai.” At first, Rahul was unsure, but then agreed. That’s when he saw how smart this man’s business really is. The driver works with a local police officer who owns a small locker nearby. He collects bags from people going into the consulate and keeps them safe in that locker. This way, visitors don’t have to worry about their belongings while they attend their visa interview.

Rahul explained, “And while most people are sweating over US visa interviews, this guy is running a zero-mile, hyper-profitable, bootstrapped operation. No MBA. No startup jargon. Just pure hustle and street-smart product-market fit.” He called the driver a “real entrepreneur” for finding a simple, clever way to earn good money without fancy degrees or big investments.

The post, shared two days ago, received many comments from LinkedIn users. While many praised Rahul for sharing this story, others have their own opinion. One user wrote, "That’s not his income alone. He has to share with multiple people, including the police. Otherwise, what stops other autowallahs from doing the same at a lower price? Also, I guess they don’t know that there is s locker facility inside the consulate at a charge of 500." "And this is how you destroyed someone's livelihood with a well of posts to promote yourself. By showcasing calculation funda's. Is this what they train you for now at Lenskart? Since your own founder chose being part of SharkTank," a second user added.

"Thanks for sharing, Rahul. This is just amazing. Interesting to know if he has any competition and if yes, how does he handle it?" added a third user. "This is absolutely brilliant, a true example of grassroots entrepreneurship at its best! What struck me most is how deeply this reflects real product-market fit: a clear pain point, a trusted solution, and timing that’s everything," added another user.

"The activity mentioned in the post has nothing to do with entrepreneurship. This is simply an opportunity identified by the person to earn some quick money, which can stop the moment it is captured by the legal eyes. Your views can be personal. It cannot be generalized," a fifth user wrote. "Interesting. Although I have a feeling there will be hafta involved, so he must maybe make half of your estimate at best. Not to mention the effort of parking in all types of weather and pollution exposure," another user added.
