Rent, apartment hunting, traffic, distance of the airport from the main city, and incidents with cab drivers are some of the aspects for which Bengaluru is renowned. Of course, being an IT hub is also a significant part of its reputation. However, the aforementioned factors are becoming increasingly dominant and overshadowing the 'IT' aspect. Illustrating this point, a recent incident came to light where a man shared his unpleasant interaction with an Ola auto driver on the micro-blogging site, X.

Under his handle 'Prashant Yadav', the user narrated an incident where the auto driver cancelled the ride and demanded extra money. The post read, "I got down at Bangalore City station, booked an Ola auto, and the auto driver called me near him. Then he cancelled the ride and said, 'Sir, pay me 100 rupees extra, and I'll take you wherever you want to go, just like Ola does.' I wonder how the middle class can survive in this city, as they consider everyone a wealthy techie."

This tweet, which is quite self-explanatory, left netizens shaken. However, such incidents are not uncommon in Bengaluru. In fact, stories about cab drivers causing trouble for customers are well-known. Apart from this attitude, the city's traffic is no help either, as people find themselves stuck in hours-long jams even on ordinary days. Not to forget the issue of potholes, which turns the roads and streets of Bengaluru into a source of memes and jokes during the rainy season.

Regarding the user's 'Ola driver' story, other netizens also came forward and flooded the comment box with their views. One user asked, "How is this city even livable?" Another user shared their experience, saying, "I would immediately cancel and report it to Ola or Uber, and then book another ride." A third user sarcastically inquired, "Have you heard of this great scientific invention called a bus?" And a fourth user added, "Seems like Bangalore is the worst in dealing with this kind of thing."
