Viral Video: Setting an example for ‘religious harmony’, a Muslim woman won countless hearts on the internet for her Mumbai to Ayodhya padayatra, with the aim to pay a visit to the much-celebrated Ram Temple. Referring to herself as a ‘Bharatiya Sanatani Muslim’, Shabnam Shaikh, began her holy journey on December 21 and instantly went viral on the internet. With a backpack on her back and a flag waving high, Shaikh’s videos of her on-foot journey are getting all kinds of reactions from the netizens. While some are supporting her decision and calling it ‘beautiful’, others are dubbing it a ‘stunt’ to grab views and attention.
The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), by the user ‘ChillamChilli’. The post was captioned, “This is Shabnam Shaikh. She has decided to walk to Ayodhya from Mumbai. She has a Marathi Boyfriend Ishwar Sharma. This is the ganga jamuni tazhzeeb we want in Hindu Rashtra. But Islamists are abusing her.”

The video instantly went viral as it gained a mixed reaction from people. Many called the video ‘unnecessary’ and dubbed her take on religions ‘controversial’, while others supported her and gave her all the love she deserved. Some also pointed out the safety issues that she might face after her videos reach the ‘wrong audience’. The post was shared a while back and received 25K views from people.
