Unemployment is one of the most basic issues in India. And the majority of people who are employed, are anyway hardly earning anything. Prolonged working hours with next to no ‘justified salary’ is something that even highly skilled employees are facing these days. Amid such working conditions, an otherwise wise and useful advice by billionaire Harsh Goenka instead left people triggered. Taking to his social media handle, Goenka was trying to convey the importance of consistency, which instead ended up being ‘impractical’ to many. The said post advised people to try and save Rs 600 every day so that their savings will mount to Rs 2,19,000 at the end of the year. But the fact that a majority either don’t even earn Rs 600 in a day or simply cannot afford to save that much, became the talking point by the netizens.
The X post went viral after getting shared and received mixed reactions. Some people dubbed it motivating and pointed out the lesson the post was trying to teach, while the rest called the billionaire out of touch with ‘reality’ and commented on their low salaries under which saving Rs 600 a day is ‘not possible’.
The post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), on the billionaire’s handle ‘hvgoenka’. The post read, “Saving Rs 600 per day = Rs 2,19,000 per year. Reading 20 pages per day = 30 books per year. Walking 10,000 steps per day = 70 marathons per year. Never underestimate the power of small habits.” The post was shared yesterday and pulled 250K views from people.

If you are Consistent, you will Keep it,” added another. “Small steps lay the foundation for big success. Daily small habits come together to create great achievements,” wrote another.
“70% of Indians earn less than this. So stop this theatrics and pay well to your employees,” added another. “India me 90% log 600 pr day kama nahi paa rhe hai aur aap save krne ko bol rhe ho (90 per cent of India does not even earn Rs 600 in a day, and you are talking about saving it),” added another. “600 Rs per day isn't small,” added the next. “first check with your employees if they are earning 600 per day,” wrote another.
