After the number of embarrassing incidents that happened around the world, raising questions over misuse of Labour laws and poor workplace environment, a much-needed improvement and some work-related reforms seemed like an obvious answer. However- NOT for managers, as employees are still somehow witnessing insane expectations from their employers. A post was shared on social media, where a screenshot of a conversation between a manager and an employee was shared. As per the texts, the employee met with a gruesome car accident, resulting in the employee taking that as an excuse for missing out on work. However, the manager seemingly dismissed the idea of a leave and clarified that only a ‘death in the family’ is excusable enough to miss work.

The post, after getting shared, pulled all kinds of reactions. Most people called the boss a typical ‘toxic manager’, whereas a few pointed out the increasing toxicity in workplaces. A few also shared jokes on the same and trolled the culture of workplace toxicity.

“Keep me updated on what time you're expecting to be here. It's understandable why you would be late, but regardless anything that prevents you from being at the workplace other than a death in the family is unexcused at any company,” the boss’ text read.

The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘kirawontmiss’. The post was captioned, “What would y’all respond with if your manager says this?” The post was shared 2 days ago and pulled more than 22K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Managers like this scare me, like is your life that miserable?!” a user said. “Send me $12,000 for a car real quick- is what the employee should say real quick,” added a second person. “I’m cussing him or her out then finding a new job,” added another.

“Happened to me at my last job. My boss asked me if I was alright and told me to let him know if I needed anything. It doesn’t cost anything to be cool to people,” added a fourth user. “I told my manager I had COVID-19 and he said he didn’t believe me,” joined a fifth person. “I would show up at their house early the next morning and slash all 4 tires on their car and then ask why they are late when they eventually turn up in a taxi,” added another.
