Delhi Viral Video: Scripted or just coincidentally caught on camera- became the debate after a video of a Delhi police cop catching a pickpocket live on the camera went viral on social media. In the clip, the cameraperson was already recording a young boy stealing from a bike rider, with the pretext of helping him in starting the bike. Luckily for the victim, a cop then came running and caught the boy, which was also captured on the camera. The video instantly went viral and left people with a mixed reaction. Some found the cop’s attentiveness impressive, while the rest called it ‘fake’.

The date and location of the incident were not confirmed. The video was shared on the social media platform ‘lavelybakshi’, with the caption, “Look alert @DelhiPolice. Pickpocket caught red-handed. A pickpocket tried to steal the wallet. Let me help you start the bike. Then Constable Sachin of Sadar police station caught pickpocket Jatin live, who was stealing the purse of a biker on the pretext of helping him.”

The video was shared today and pulled more than 9K views from people. The video went viral for a multitude of reasons. Most people hailed the police officer and stressed the need for more such officers, while the rest dubbed it ‘scripted’.

Taking to the comments section, people shared their take. “The police have caught him with great alertness, he deserves a Like,” a user said.

“The person making the video already knew that his pockets would be picked here, that's why the cameraman arrived first,” added a second person.

“Good job. I hope in future there will be no such video or comment that this was just a reel which has no connection with real life,” wrote a third person.

“Just wondering why someone was filming this,” added a fourth person. “Delhi needs such policemen, not fake recruits who run away after seeing a crime,” added another. “Such a policeman should be promoted immediately,” commented a sixth person.
