Bangladesh Anti-Israel Protests Viral Video: What began as a protest against Israel’s military operations in Gaza quickly turned chaotic in Bangladesh on Monday, with angry crowds vandalising outlets of popular global brands like Bata and KFC across several cities.

According to Dhaka Tribune, at least 49 people have been arrested for their role in the widespread vandalism. The demonstrations, fuelled by outrage over the situation in Palestine, erupted in cities including Bogra, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Cox’s Bazar. Protesters blocked roads and marched through streets, shouting slogans and demanding a total boycott of products with alleged ties to Israel.

In Bogra, the protests took a violent turn as hundreds of students and locals gathered in the city center, Satmatha, holding banners and placards condemning what they described as “genocide in Gaza.” Emotions ran high as a large group surrounded a Bata showroom, and in a viral video, protesters can be seen smashing glass walls with bricks, sending shards flying as chaos unfolded. Thankfully, employees inside acted quickly and locked the doors, preventing further damage and keeping everyone safe.

Another video shows an agitated mob gathered outside a KFC outlet, aggressively damaging the property. Protesters reportedly believed these businesses had links to Israel or were supporting Israeli interests. Despite the tension and destruction, SM Moinuddin, Officer-in-Charge of Bogra Sadar Police Station, told Dhaka Tribune, “Although protesters threw bricks and broke the glass, no major untoward incident occurred.”
