Viral Video: Most of us have our own little tricks for picking fruits and vegetables, tapping, sniffing, or just trusting our gut. But one woman decided to skip all that and let artificial intelligence do the work for her and the internet can’t stop talking about it. Her story begins in a supermarket aisle, staring at a mountain of green, striped watermelons. Instead of trying to figure out which one was ripe, she pulled out her phone and opened ChatGPT. She snapped a clear photo of the pile and asked, “Which is the best watermelon?”
The AI didn’t just give a random answer. It shared a step-by-step guide, telling her to check for certain patterns on the skin, look for yellow spots, feel the weight, and notice the shape. But she wasn’t done yet; she asked ChatGPT to actually point out the melon she should take home.
A few moments later, the same image came back with an arrow aimed at one watermelon with a big yellow patch on its side. She trusted the pick, bought it, and later cut it open. Inside was exactly what she had hoped for, bright red flesh, full of juice, and sweet as candy. Excited, she posted the moment on Instagram with the caption: “So we asked ChatGPT to pick the best watermelon for us. And it was delivered. We got the sweetest watermelon. No more hitting, checking, or talking to your watermelon before picking.”

Some people were impressed by how AI could help in everyday situations, while others joked that we might be getting a little too dependent on technology for even the simplest choices.
"It's amazing, but simultaneously, we are forgetting basic skills, like recalling phone numbers," a user wrote. "This generation doesn’t rely on themselves for anything," a second user wrote. "We should try our best to limit AI usage," a third user requested.
"Another tip: once I asked ChatGPT to show me where the medicine was on the shelf, it was a really large shelf and I couldn’t find it. It worked for me," a fourth user wrote. "Are we forgetting how bad AI is for the environment…… and also are we forgetting basic skills???? Please stop relying on chat for information that can be learned without it PLEASE," added another user.
