Chennai Cyclone Michaung: In a heavy rainfall that is reportedly being witnessed after almost 70 to 80 years in Chennai, the situation is worsening by the minute as the threats of the destructive Cyclone Michaung continue to loom over the area. From damaged public properties to submerged roads and streets, Chennai is on high alert. Amid all this, the city witnessed an unexpected ‘horror story’ when a massive crocodile was seen roaming on a half-submerged road that was in active use by commuters. The reptile was seen at the side of the road, while a few people driving vehicles promptly pressed the brakes as soon as they spotted the ‘guest’. A video of the same that was circulating on social media went viral. 

The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘Memer Aspirant’. The post was captioned, “A crocodile going for a casual stroll middle of a highway in Perungalathur. Peak chaos. #ChennaiRains.”

The video has left the netizens and the citizens scared. Most expressed their horror and prayed for the city, while others continued to spread awareness about the incident so that people would move with caution. The post was shared today and pulled thousands of views.

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “Poor thing! Imagine its confusion and terror! Hope it got back safely to its environment,” a user said. “Why do natural phenomena cause so much chaos?” asked another. “What if they are hungry?” said the next. “Yes we are introverts by nature,” joked a fourth netizen. “Hope that crocodile sees this tweet and shares it with its friends for no alarm,” added a fifth. “This is, of course, dangerous for the humans, but for the croc too. It must be really scary and lonely,” said a sixth. 

“No one will knowingly provoke or so in its way. Just the accidental meeting is scary, who knows what the crocodile will think of us #chennai! Scary,” joined a seventh.
