Duty, discipline, and punctuality are the cornerstones of any armed force. But what happens when a soldier claims supernatural forces are to blame for his negligence? A PAC constable stationed at the 44th Battalion in Meerut has left his superiors in shock with a justification that seems straight out of a horror novel.

In his written response, he claimed that his wife appears in his dreams, sits on his chest, and drinks his blood. These nightmares, he said, leave him exhausted and unable to sleep, making it difficult for him to wake up on time, maintain his uniform, or even shave. His reply has now gone viral on social media, leaving people both amused and concerned.

Commanders Question His Behaviour:

The soldier’s superiors had noticed his lack of discipline for a while. Despite repeated warnings, he continued to arrive late and look unkempt. His commander finally issued a notice, stating that his careless attitude was unacceptable in a disciplined force like the PAC.

"On 16 February at 9 am, you were expected to attend a duty briefing by the in-charge battalion commander. Despite being informed of the time, you arrived late, unshaven, and in uniform that was not up to standard. This instance is not isolated, as your late arrival for group work and team counts has been observed on multiple occasions. Such behaviour demonstrates a lack of interest in your duties and reflects poorly on your commitment to government work. Within a disciplined force like the PAC, this disregard for punctuality and presentation constitutes gross negligence and signifies indiscipline and arbitrariness. Please explain your actions."

Instead of giving a usual excuse, the soldier described his unusual problem in detail, saying his wife’s presence in his dreams was ruining his life. His explanation, along with a copy of the disciplinary notice, has now spread across social media, sparking debates about whether he is genuinely distressed or just trying to avoid punishment.

Officials Respond To The Viral Incident:

As the story gained attention, senior officials confirmed that they were looking into the matter. PAC Commandant Satyendra Patel stated that they would investigate the soldier’s condition and take necessary action. "Who is this staff member? What are his problems? The entire matter is being investigated,” adding, “If any person needs counselling, it will be done. If anyone needs departmental help, the process will be done for that as well," Patel said.

While some find the soldier’s excuse bizarre, others believe this might be a sign of deeper psychological stress. Whether his claim is real or just an unusual way to avoid punishment, his story has certainly sparked discussions about the mental well-being of security personnel.
