Apart from weddings being one of the most important life events for a majority of people, the occasion is indeed one of the most expensive ones. So understandably, people try their absolute best to calculate anything and everything that might cost them during the wedding. Keeping that in mind, the concept of RSVP is a smart one that many couples follow. It basically is a confirmation that guests give, based on which the expense for food, stay and more is done.
Keeping the same in mind, a content creator came up with the idea of a ‘missed RSVP note’, where a couple can share it with the guests who missed out on the RSVP deadline. The note was shared on the social media handle of the creator, Nishma Mistry, which went viral in no time, with people agreeing with and loving the idea.
“We are sorry you can't make it to our wedding. Our RSVP deadline has passed and you unfortunately did not respond. We would have loved to have you attend but final numbers have now been turned in and your presence will be missed,” the note read.
The post was shared on social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘asianbridesorority'. The post was captioned, “Would you send this guests who don’t RSVP?".

Taking to social media, people shared their take. “That’s how RSVPs work sana. Also, some have RSVP dates because they need to pay deposits for certain things and they pay according to per head attending. (catering per head, chairs, seating, etc),” a user said. “Can’t lie, I’m very impressed they stood their ground. If you can’t take my wedding seriously then you don’t deserve to be there,” said a second person.
“That’s how RSVP works, there’s nothing to think about,” said a third person. “What do you mean? They were told there was a deadline and didn’t respond sorry for you all,” added a fourth person. “I wish my wife and I had done this. It would have avoided so much stress as the venue needed to know our final numbers but people were taking too long to respond. Also, people RSVP’d as coming but never showed up. We paid $175 per plate for catering,” added another.
“I think they gave a deadline that needed to be adhered to,” commented a fifth person. “I mean this is how RSVP works, so,” added next.
