Viral Video: Taking the laws into their own hands, yet another case of public thrashing was shared on social media, which went viral. However, the mob hardly left the internet bothered or upset as the man getting beaten up was accused of stealing the phone of a 65-year-old passenger travelling on the train. As soon as the alleged thief was caught, the other passenger ended up resorting to brutal beating as the accused was slapped and abused mercilessly. The man was later handed over to the authorities, where he was further abused by people recording a video of the entire matter. The exact date and location of the matter could not be confirmed, regardless the video left many ‘satisfied’ as netizens called the ‘justice’ well handled by the public.

The video after getting shared, went viral and left people commenting. Most dubbed the punishment and the public thrashing apt and pointed out that the thief looked well off, while the rest lauded the passengers for handing the man to the police and commented against violence.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’. The post was captioned, “Thief got Caught inside Indian Railways (He tried to steal the mobile phone of 65y/o Uncle).” The video was shared yesterday and pulled more than 70K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “And he got permanent treatment,” a user said. “Zaroor Kuch majboori rhi hogi koi yuhi chor nhi banta (maybe he had his own reasons, no one turns into a thief just like that),” added a second person. “The beating was really brutal,” added a third person.

“It is often seen that those who steal mobile phones in trains are very poor. In fact, many of these snatchers and pickpockets are rather fine. They even sometimes hurt people just to steal from them. So this punishment was justified,” added a fourth person. “Every train thief needs a good slap as a reminder. Make sure next time he doesn’t even think about getting on the train. If he does, make sure he remembers what happened before,” added another.
