India is known as a diverse nation, with all kinds of people celebrating their own cultures and traditions. However, since the last few years, the term diversity has been reduced to simply something that is taught in schools, rather than actually being respected and practised in the country. Social media is full of instances proving the same, where people were questioned about their own beliefs and choices. Adding another to the list, an incident was shared on social media, where a man was criticised for ordering Biryani during the Diwali season. Calling ‘eating non-vegetarian food’ against ‘dharma’ during Diwali, a Delhi food delivery agent asked the man to not eat non-veg till Diwali.
Opening up about facing the unexpected moral policing by the delivery man, the victim took to the internet and spoke about feeling unsafe. The exact date of the incident could not be confirmed. As per the post, here’s what the delivery man said, “Bhaiya suno, ye bhot galat kar rahe ho aap, theek nahi hai dharm me ye (Brother listen, you are not doing the correct thing, this is not correct as per our Dharma).
Coming back to the post, it pulled many reactions after going viral. Most people found the incident a prime example of unwanted moral policing, while the rest jokingly suggested hilarious replies for the delivery man. A few also suggested reporting the delivery agent.
The Diwali post was shared on Reddit, by the handle ‘paisaagadimehngaghar’. The post read, “Weird sh*t happened today.” The post was shared 3 days ago and pulled more than 1K upvotes from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “During Navratri, a lot of people don't eat non-veg but Bengalis do, kyunki unke Mein chalta hai (Because it's allowed for them). And that's something I like about Hinduism, it gives you a lot of freedom,” a user said. “F*ck him. Why is he rubbing his belief on you? Ask him not to deliver chicken then! Dharam keliye,” added another.
“Bhai half usko bhi chahiye thi (He wanted to have half your biriyani)... He just wanted you to give up the order so that he can have that leg /s,” added another. “Man this was one of my biggest fears - this kind of moral policing,” added another. “Ah. Another day of belief shoving by illogical sh*theads,” added another.
