Delhi Woman Viral Reddit Post: A woman shared her experience on Reddit, where she recalled a rainy evening that could’ve gone wrong, but didn’t because of one thoughtful gesture. After a quick visit to the post office with colleagues, she booked a cab to what she thought was her home. But just 100 meters into the ride, she realised she had entered her office address by mistake. The woman asked the driver if she could change the destination, but he gently refused, saying it was in the opposite direction and he wasn't feeling well. She agreed to cancel the ride, but what bothered her wasn’t the cancelled trip; it was the fact that she was left standing alone on a dark, empty road in the rain.
That’s when the driver showed kindness beyond duty. Sensing her fear, he said, “Ma’am, aapdoosri cab kar lo. Jab takna ho, aap car mein hi baithe raho. Aiseraatmein road pekahaanaapakelekhaderahoge. Acchanahilagtaaise.” He told her to sit safely in his car until her next ride arrived. Despite being tired, unwell, and hungry, he waited with her, making sure she wasn’t left alone at night.
Once the second cab arrived, he didn’t leave until she got into it safely. The woman wrote that this small act of kindness made her feel deeply safe and grateful. “The whole time till I reached home and even now, I think about how a small gesture can make somebody feel safe and secure. Hope that he’s doing well now,” she added.
