Leap Year 2024: Today is going to be an extra day and people are somehow way too excited about it. Yes, it's February 24 today, which also means that 2024 is a Leap Year. And with the extra day just a few hours away, people cannot spot making jokes on the same, while some are instead counting all the opportunities that they will get to ace on that one extra day!

Leap Year, for those unaware, is the year when the total days under a year’s cycle swell up to 366, instead of the usual 365. The year comes after every four years, which also means that the ‘nightmare’ year, 2020, was also a Leap Year. With 2024 being the current Leap Year, 2028 will be the next Leap Year.

The concept may well be a simple one, but netizens sure are having their own kind of fun with it. From calling it a year of opportunities to ‘crying’ over the fact that they will have to survive an extra day this year, social media has been witnessing all kinds of reactions and jokes on Leap Year 2024.

Taking to the internet, people shared their views. Most shared hilarious jokes on the year getting a day longer, while the rest celebrated the same fact. Many also dubbed it a year of more opportunities with an extra day in the charts.

“While posting my last post I just realised 2024 is a leap year and we'll have to deal with an extra day in February,” a user said.

“How convenient is it that leap year coincides with the halving?” said a second person.

“Just realised that 2024 is a leap year. So we got one day extra, hell yeeh!” said a third person.

“Morning Missy Message. Today is when we enter an alternate universe where February 28 is NOT the last day of this month. Don’t make it weird,” said another.

“Realizing the paycheck didn’t hit because it’s a leap year,” said a fifth user.

“Woke up this morning thinking it was the last day of February. Only to find out this is a leap year.  February the shortest month of the year, but seams like the longest. Seams even longer when it’s a leap year,” said a sixth person.
