Nothing is a cakewalk, especially in a country full of highly competitive people dedicated to achieving all that they can in a lifetime. Amid such competitiveness, the last thing that one can expect to happen is being rejected- for being a learner. However, that is exactly what happens the most in many Indian organisations- freshers and even experienced people getting fired or laid off for anything and everything. Experiencing something similar, a man took to Reddit to share his ordeal after getting fired from a Bengaluru start-up after merely working for 2.5 months. What was further shocking was that the fresher was fired over a text by one of the start-up board members.

The Reddit post went viral and received countless reactions. Most people sympathised with the man, while the rest dubbed it ‘part of life and work’. Many also assured the man that it was a managerial issue.

The post was shared on Reddit, by the handle ‘nautanki_sala2’. The post was captioned, “Got fired today. Feeling confused and defeated. Need suggestions.” The post was shared two days ago and pulled many upvotes from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “To strengthen your point. You almost always end up in a better place usually (this is life in general). I ended up on a 200% hike as a fresher in a company than what would have been my PPO from the internship they fired me from,” a user said. “Elon in fact was fired from PayPal. Lol,” added a second person.

“Don't take it personally to the degree that it affects your self-confidence. End of the day they were bad managers themselves that they had no plan in hand and it has come down to this. Use this experience to spot red flags when you find your next company,” added a third person. “Most likely this startup wanted someone experienced, but couldn't afford them, so they hired a fresher - hoping they'd ‘teach themselves’. You just happened to suffer because of their bad decisions. But don't worry, it's a part of the field,” added another.
