In the last few years, social media platform Reddit has turned into somewhat of a confessional page. There are countless pages and even hashtags that are primarily for confessional stories. Keeping in mind that it's a social media platform, these posts never fail to draw all kinds of reactions as well. Recently, confessing about his marriage issues, a man opened up about a particular incident, where he and his wife ended up with a ‘revengeful’ rift over their in-laws. The Redditor further asked for a solution from the internet community. However, as the post went viral, the internet began to react to something else entirely; the man’s take on ‘being poor’ with a ‘Rs 30 LPA salary’. Yes, believe it or not, the man called himself poor despite claiming to have an impressive LPA, whereas he tagged his 3 BHK house ‘small’.
The Reddit post went viral and pulled many reactions. People were seemingly more intrigued by the original poster’s definition of ‘poor and rich’, while the rest joked about the same. Many also suggested getting couples therapy.
The post was shared on Reddit, by the handle ‘digital-hitchhiker’. The post was captioned, “Confession: Am I a bad Husband or not?”
The description read, “Last week, my wife told me that her mom and relatives were coming over. Because these folks are too toxic and always troll me for my low income (it is 30LPA) and small house (it’s 3bhk), I came up with a brilliant plan—I told my wife I had a "work trip". I booked myself into a fancy and spacious OYO in the same city for three days. Man to have a king-sized bed all to yourself was so amazing. I called my 3 buddies over, and we went to the hotel spa. Tbh I had the best time of my life.”
“Here's where I messed up though - felt guilty and confessed to my wife. She got revenge by inviting MY relatives over for 10 days while she took off to Goa with her friends and my credit card. I am hiding in my bathroom right now just to have some ‘me time’. Do you guys think I deserve all this or my wife overreacted?” the description further read.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Rich life can't relate,” a user said. “If this is not a troll post then the both of you need urgent help, consider couple's counseling asap,” added a second person. “You both need to at least sit down and have a conversation about your relatives. URGENTLY,” added another.
“30Lpa = low-income hmmmm,” added a fourth person. “Both of you need to touch some grass, go to therapy, and have a lesson in communication,” added a fifth user. “You need a luxury therapist as well because we realistic people won’t be able to provide any help but judgment,” commented a sixth person.
