Gen Z Intern Viral Request: When you want a break, but make it Gen Z style. One intern at an AI startup didn’t just apply for leave; they sent an email so chill, it felt like a Goa playlist in text form. And yes, the internet is loving it and losing it at the same time. The viral email, titled ‘Going on a trip’, read, "Hi, feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the work, and my energy feels a little off, so not getting that vibe right now. I'll be out from 28th July to 30th July (please don't miss me). Here's my train PNR XXX, and attaching the booking slip for reference. Will talk soon, bye."

The email was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by GharKeKalesh, with the caption: “Hesitation has left this generation.” The intern wasn’t asking for permission; they were basically saying, “I’m out, see ya!”

Their senior, who was managing a small group of interns, shared that in 20 years of professional life, they’d “never seen a leave request quite like this.” But instead of anger, there was admiration; they appreciated the honesty and confidence.

The internet, of course, was divided. Some called it bold and refreshing. Others felt it lacked workplace decorum. But one thing’s clear: this email stirred up conversations around mental health, boundaries, and how Gen Z is rewriting the work rulebook.

The post shared today received significant likes, views and comments from X users. One user wrote, "Wait until Gen Z starts working as an HR professional and Management positions." "Jab mass layoffs krte hue company hesitate nhikrti to employee kyu kre? Nothing wrong in her mail," a second user added.

"As seniors, if we had the guts to be clear and honest at our workplaces, things would have been different. We toiled ourselves to extremes. Loved this GenZ! Straight forward without drama," added a third user. "At least this generation is talking straight to the point.... And I don't understand why people can't digest the fact of taking casual leave just for self... Jarurihai koi kaamrhegatbhi leave milega," wrote a fourth user. "At least she is honest, and she should enjoy her life too instead of working every day," wrote another user.
