US Woman Viral Video: When Jessica, an American woman, married a man from Bihar and moved to India, she thought her life was set for a beautiful new beginning. But what she didn’t expect were the cruel and racist comments that came her way, just because she chose to marry an Indian. In a video that’s now gone viral on Instagram, Jessica shared the absurd and hurtful things people say to foreigners married to Indians. With text over her video, she revealed some shocking remarks trolls have made, like, 'Your husband married you for a green card.' 'I feel bad for you that you married a dark-skinned person.' 'You destroyed your life by moving to India.' 'Too bad your kids aren’t white like you.'
Jessica didn’t stay silent. She made this video to call out the racism, colourism, and obsession with white skin and foreign passports that she sees online every day. In her caption, she asked, 'How many of these have you heard or seen online? I promise this is just a sample of colourism, racism, and white skin, western passport worship I see on a daily basis.'
Jessica often talks about her journey in India, from her wedding in 2010 to the challenges of being a foreigner in a cross-cultural marriage. In earlier videos, she’s shared how India became her home and why she never wanted to leave.
