Neeraj Chopra Hailed For Patriotism: From the Commonwealth to the Tokyo Olympics, there has been no game in recent years where the Olympic medalist and India’s Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra did not earn glory for the country. With remarkable throw after throw, Chopra has done nothing but widen his collection of medals in the game of javelin throw. And yesterday, doing something similar, the ace player won a gold medal at the Asian Games 2023 with his excellent throw measuring 88.88m. Amid all the glory, the fans and proud Indians grabbed every opportunity to praise the athlete. Doing the same, a video surfaced online, where a netizen pointed out Chopra's patriotism and respect for the national flag. In the clip, the player was seen celebrating and interacting with the spectators, and one among them threw the national flag at him. Despite the catch being complex, Chopra went out of his way to grab the flag, just so that the flag didn't hit the ground. The gesture instantly won millions of hearts and the clip went viral. 

Along with Chopra, another rising star, Kishore Jena, aced the game at the Asian Games, after he brought home a silver medal with a remarkable javelin throw measuring 87.54m. 

The video was posted on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘poll_guru’. The post was captioned, “That 'flag should not fall on the ground' moment! Neeraj Chopra!”

In the video, Chopra was seen celebrating along with the other players with the Indian national flag in their hands. The athletes were also addressing the audience who expressed their love for the players in the form of cheers and claps. Many among the fans were also trying to interact, while one admirer threw the national flag towards the Golden Boy so that he could catch it. However, the wind made it difficult for the flag to reach Chopra, but the athlete managed to catch it by going out of his way.

The video went viral as it won many hearts. Many hailed Chopra for his respect towards the national flag, while others celebrated the glory that was won by Chopra and Jena at the game. The post was shared yesterday and garnered 11.8K views.

Taking to the comment section, fans flooded it with praise and heart emoticons for the player’s patriotism.
