Social media users were quick to react, tagging Uber India and Delhi Police, demanding strict action against such violent behaviour. Many have also called for better safety measures for cab drivers and stricter rules for passengers.

If someone tries to snatch ke disarm your licensed weapon in aggression," a user wrote. "Drivers cancel so many times. Why doesn't Uber pay a penalty to passengers for such cancellations? Passengers are forced to book multiple cabs due to this habit of drivers," a second user wrote.
