Viral Video: Creating the ‘world’s first AI dress’, a software engineer in Google created waves for her extraordinary creation with robotic snakes. Yes, you read that correctly. Christina Ernst, an engineer and clearly a fashion enthusiast, created a robotic dress that left the internet impressed. Needless to say, the dress took inspiration from one of the most popular Greek mythology monsters, Medusa. The black gown’s highlight was basically the golden snakes that the designer created using a machine and 3D printer. The AI-coded robotic snake that rested near the engineer’s neck was designed in a manner that also detected people and their movements in front of it.

Taking to her social media handle, the woman shared the entire process of making the AI dress, in the form of multiple videos. The videos understandably went viral as people were intrigued by the design and the final product.

The video was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘She Builds Robots’. The post was captioned, “My robotic Medusa dress is finally done!!!” The video was shared three days ago and pulled 149K likes from people.

The video went viral and pulled countless reactions. Most loved the dress and the robotic snake, while the rest lauded the woman’s skills and creativity. Some, on the other hand, did not find the dress as beautiful as they apparently ‘expected’. A few also defended the woman's efforts and dubbed the dress a ‘win’ regardless of the negative response.

“I certainly had much higher expectations for the design as well! I experimented with air-dry clay, foam, fabric, 3D printing, and embroidery to add snakes while keeping the weight down. But at some point, I was ready to call this effort, since it’s just a project I was doing in the evenings for fun before this account blew up and since I’m a full-time engineer. Engineering is about trade-offs and I’m happy with the ones I made,” the woman later added.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “The people who are ‘disappointed by this’…are we seeing the same video? I’m sorry but this is amazing. Looking forward to seeing everyone else build their robot snake dresses,” a user said. “Cosplayers wish list: make a robot costume,” added a second person.

“It just needs some golden line drawings on the dress to tie it all together. Otherwise great stuff,” wrote a third user. “You’re all acting like it’s so easy to code a dress! Yeah. I expected more too but it’s really really hard. But great for a first try!” read a fourth person. “I'm also an Engineer and I love fashion, so I really love this project!” lauded a fifth user. “The spiral snake is extremely clever. 1 function but significant movement,” added another.
