Gurugram Rapido Driver Viral Video: A Rapido driver in Gurgaon is being praised online for his patience and dedication after enduring over six hours of heavy traffic and waterlogged streets during Delhi-NCR’s relentless rain. The driver, Suraj Maurya, safely dropped his passenger home without a single complaint, leaving a strong impression on social media. Journalist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj took to X to express her gratitude, writing, “Hi @rapidobikeapp I want to thank ur driver partner, Mr. Suraj Maurya, from the bottom of my heart. He was with me for 6+ hours because of #GurgaonTraffic, but didn’t complain at all. Dropped me home in these waters. Politely said Ma’am, pay whatever extra u want. ABSOLUTE GEM!!”
The heavy downpour on Monday brought Gurgaon to a near standstill, causing severe waterlogging and long traffic jams, especially along busy roads like the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. Commuters were stranded for hours, while videos of the flooded streets quickly went viral online.
Authorities responded to the situation with caution. Gurgaon District Commissioner Ajay Kumar advised corporate offices and private institutions to allow employees to work from home and schools to conduct online classes on Tuesday, as an orange alert for heavy rain remains in effect.
