She told me she just bought a 3BHK flat in Surat worth Rs 60 lakhs, spent Rs 4 lakh on furniture, and took only a Rs 10 lakh loan. I was honestly shocked.”

Nalini further added, “When I asked more, she mentioned that she already owns a two-floor house and a shop in the nearby Velanja village, both on rent. I just sat there speechless.”

The post shared yesterday (07-10-2025) received more than 800k views from X users. "Unbelievable. I guess that's the magic of untaxed money," a user wrote. "Salaried employees are heavily taxed, while domestic helpers, street vendors, and similar workers often pay zero tax on their earnings. Over time, this allows them to save more and build assets faster than us," a second user wrote.

"I know a person who works as a sweeper in the area for McD, and she owns 7 houses and 2 shops, 1 house is in Kamla Nagar main market," wrote a third user. "Discipline & Continuity hold the key. Small efforts over a long period of time yield greater results than large efforts over a short time," added a fourth user. "The house that I live in is owned by an auto driver, and he owns two more houses. That’s how I welcomed myself in Mumbai," added a fifth user.
