Hyderabad School Nursery Admission Fees: 'Rs 21,000 per month just to learn ABCD?' This one line has set the internet buzzing. A parent’s post on social media has once again put the spotlight on how expensive early education has become in India. This time, a well-known private school in Hyderabad has left people shocked with its sky-high fee for nursery admissions. The school in question is Nasr School, and the buzz started after a user named Anuradha Tiwari shared a photo of the school's fee structure on X. The image showed that the school is charging a whopping Rs 2,51,000 per year just for nursery classes, which breaks down to more than Rs 21,000 a month. That’s not even for higher classes; this is for children just starting to learn the alphabet.
Tiwari wrote, “Now, learning ABCD will cost you ₹21,000 per month. What are these schools even teaching to justify such a ridiculously high fee?” Her post quickly went viral, drawing strong reactions from parents and internet users across the country. According to the photo, Nasr School’s fee for nursery includes a tuition fee of Rs 47,750, an admission fee of Rs 5,000, an initiation fee of Rs 12,500, and a refundable deposit of Rs 10,000. The rest of the amount is made up of other charges not mentioned in detail.
But the nursery fee isn’t the only concern. The fee for pre-primary classes (PPI 1 and 2) is RS 2,42,700, while classes I and II go up to RS 2,91,460. For classes III and IV, it climbs further to RS 3,22,350. These numbers have left many wondering, Is quality education becoming a luxury only a few can afford?

Social media is now flooded with comments and debates. While some defend the fees by calling them the cost of premium education, many argue that charging such a huge amount for early learning is unfair and out of reach for most families. The post shared yesterday garnered 1.7 million views from people.
"If one cannot afford the fees, don’t send your kids to this school, simple and straight," a user wrote. "15 Housewives should get together and start a home schooling tuition, teaching their own children based on the syllabus in the schools and the skill set the mothers have. Not only will the children be taught by committed mothers, but they will also get the special attention they need, and I am sure they will pass all the exams with flying colours," a second user wrote.
"I agree with you... All this is happening at the behest of the government. That means the UP government has taken the initiative to close government schools, due to which you will be left with only private schools," added a third user. "The bigger question is, why this fixation with expensive schools. The fees in a small town are less than 500 Rs per month," added another user.
