Mumbai Woman Viral Post: A late-night walk in Mumbai turned into a nightmare for a woman, and her emotional post on social media has now shocked thousands. The woman shared that she was allegedly molested by an unknown man near Goregaon West, and her story quickly spread across the internet, forcing the police to respond. According to her Instagram post, the incident happened on November 26 at 9:43 PM near the Radisson area. She said she was on a phone call and fully alert about her surroundings when the man suddenly came from behind.
She wrote, “I was walking across the bridge near Radisson Goregaon West. I was on call and was hyper-alert about my surroundings the whole time. Then a man groped me from behind, inappropriately, aggressively, explicitly touched me and ran across the bridge through passing vehicles.” She wrote that she froze for a few seconds after the incident and kept shouting for help, but no one came forward. “I even tried chasing the man but he disappeared entirely, and I was in the middle of the road crying, howling for help,” she added.
She also claimed that she tried calling the police and emergency helpline numbers, but no one picked up her calls. “My next instinct was to call the police, but not a single call was answered. No emergency helpline number, apparently made for ‘women’s safety’, nor the generic police helpline was answered either,” she said.

After her post went viral and people began tagging the official police handle, Mumbai Police finally responded online, saying, “We are sorry for the ordeal you had to go through. Please DM us your contact. Our team will get in touch with you immediately.” The incident has once again raised serious questions about women’s safety on city streets at night. The post shared a few hours ago received many comments from social media users.
One user wrote, "It's high time we don't fall for the 'Mumbai is safe' narrative. Today, no city is safe, she spoke and made it public, hence we are aware, you never know how many are shut behind the scenes. I am sorry what happened to you. Please stay strong, we are with you." "I'll be super honest, koi kuch nahi karne waala, abhi inka next question yahi hoga, what were you wearing, it's your fault," a second user wrote.
"First step is to file a complaint at your nearest police station and share the entire incident with them. It's their duty, they must act on it, and it's our duty; we can't just be silent on this. Raise your voice against it and also tag the Mumbai police in your story and on Twitter. Also, when you go to file a complaint, take your lawyer with you," wrote a third user. "@mumbaipolice, horrible how you are unavailable when needed the most. Please look into this," added another user.
