Kanwariyas Viral Video: As the holy month of Sawan begins, the much-awaited Kanwar Yatra is in full swing, with thousands of devoted Lord Shiva followers hitting the roads with unwavering faith. The Kanwar Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage observed during the Hindu month of Sawan, where Kanwariyas, devotees of Lord Shiva, walk long distances, often barefoot, with holy water from the Ganges River. This water is carried in beautifully decorated pots known as Kanwars, and later offered at Shiva temples.

However, amidst this spiritual journey, a disturbing incident has gone viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions from the public. In the video, a group of Kanwariyas can be seen furiously vandalising a car with sticks and rods, smashing its windows and severely damaging the vehicle. The chaos reportedly began after a car accidentally hit one of the Kanwariyas, damaging his Kanwar. Enraged by this, the other Kanwariyas surrounded the vehicle and thrashed the driver mercilessly.

As the situation escalated, police arrived at the scene and tried to control the angry mob. Bystanders stood by, some shocked, others recording the incident on their phones. The video quickly went viral, sparking a wave of debate online, while many condemned the violent behaviour, others highlighted the need for better crowd management during the Kanwar Yatra.

The video shared on X (Formerly Twitter) by the handle 'gharkekalesh' was captioned, "In Ghaziabad's Modinagar, Kanwariyas damaged a vehicle and severely beat the driver. The incident occurred after the vehicle accidentally hit a Kanwariya, damaging their Kanwar, which enraged the other Kanwariyas." The post, shared two days ago, garnered 600k views from social media users.

"GOOD JOB KANWARIYAS...The Kanwariyas, in their devotion to Lord Shiva, are not just carrying water.. they are carrying the weight of centuries of faith, culture, and identity. In a country where law and order often fail to protect the devout, the Kanwariyas actions are a form of self-defense," a user wrote. "Very good why they are touching them they are doing spiritual work why they are touching them with car one month they cant be in home," a second user wrote.

"Why are they wearing shoes? Are they really Kanwariyas? Sad to see only one policeman there. And he’s standing helpless," added a third user. "Zero sense of responsibility, culture, and education. And we are aspiring to be a superpower. Marathis are hitting others to speak Marathi, and kanwariyas are destroying property and beating people in rage. What kind of society have we become?" added another user. "This is totally insane and uncontrolled. Govt should do something for people, these are not Kanwariyas, they are hooligans," wrote another user.
