Until a few years back, ‘weird fashion’ was one of the most preferred references for movie makers when they wanted to show that the plot was futuristic or had something to do with a dystopian setting. From films like Hunger Games to Matrix, any film that dealt with a world that was different from ours, chose to showcase a distinct fashion. That’s how we knew that the movie’s plot was taking place in a completely different ‘dimension’. But recently, it seems like humanity has finally reached the ‘distinct dystopia’ that these movies were referring to. Why, you ask? Well, with the kind of fashion several luxury brands are releasing these days, what else could it be? Take the example of Louis Vuitton’s latest Sandwich Bag. The bag looks exactly how it sounds and costs Rs 2,80,000.
The said bag has been designed by Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s creative director for menswear. As soon as the bag, with its staggering price tag, was reflected on the luxury brand’s website, social media began to blast with reactions from netizens over its ‘wildness’.
The pictures and videos of the sandwich bag are going viral on social media sites. Most people 'ridiculed’ the bag’s design and its price, while the rest shared jokes related to the same. Many also compared the bag’s cost with other much more valuable services that cost less than the luxury bag.

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “How Louis Vuitton is Making ultra-rich people fool selling them sandwich bag priced 9 lakh rupees,” a user said. “The Louis Vuitton Sandwich Bag. Because people who buy it will be so broke they will need to make their sandwiches for life,” said a second user. “I would appreciate it if any of you could gift me that new Louis Vuitton sandwich bag! I’ll use it to carry a lunch box to the office, would be so handy,” added a third person. “This is ridiculous. Louis Vuitton released a ‘sandwich bag’ and it costs more than $3,000,” said another.
