Lucknow Couple Kisses Over Speeding Car’s Sunroof; Viral Video Triggers Debate About 'Privacy And PDA’

Lucknow Viral Video: When it comes to PDA, be it minor or extreme, India is not exactly the country that has fully accepted public display of affection so far. Sometimes, the PDA itself is embarrassing for everyone, while other times, it's hardly a bother. Triggering a debate over something similar, a video was shared online, where a couple was seen kissing over a speeding car’s sunroof allegedly in Lucknow. Along with the clip, the internet user who shared the video chastised the duo and demanded action against them. However, backing the young couple, most netizens advocated for them in the comment section and pointed out that the duo was not creating any issues for other commuters. People also commented that the incident was hardly any violation.

Regardless, as the clip went viral, it came under the notice of the Lucknow Police, who assured of looking into the matter. The date and exact location of the incident could not be confirmed.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘anujjournalist1’. The post was captioned, “Lucknow:- The city of culture and etiquette is getting a bad name these days in areas like Gomtinagar, after the riots, the obscenity of the lovers came to the fore, from 1090 square to Chief Minister square, they kept doing obscene acts fearlessly, police was absent, lovemaking is happening on the roof of the car number UP 78 GB 0130 @lkopolice.”

“Investigation is being carried out by Traffic Police @lucknowtraffic Necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation,” read the response by the X handle of the Lucknow Police.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “It is not you or the person who clicked this video who is obscene. Live and let live. There are other real problems in the country. Pay attention to them and stop all this time pass,” a user said. “What are they doing to you? Just ignore,” added a second person.

“There is nothing wrong in this, change your mindset,” added a third person. “Keep the civility in your mental envelope and continue to keep track of the patched arguments. The issue is about the text being written on the open roof of the car, if the hellish exercise was being played inside the car to complete it, then the issue would have become the truth of the streets of privacy,” added another.
