Lucknow Flyover Viral Video: A video from Lucknow is going viral for a very strange reason. It shows a half-built flyover that seems to go directly into a building. Yes, you read that right. The bridge doesn't connect anywhere; it just ends at a wall. This surprising video has left people on the internet shocked and confused. After the video was shared online, it quickly started trending. Stand-up comedian Tarun Lucknowi posted it, and it now has over 2.5 million views. People are joking and calling it the “8th Wonder of the World” because of how odd it looks.
What’s the Real Reason Behind This?
The flyover is being built in the Para area of Lucknow. It was supposed to make travel easier by connecting Indralok Colony to Kesarikheda. The total length of the bridge is about 1 kilometre, and it’s expected to cost Rs 74 crore. The construction started in February 2024, and most of the work, about 75% is already done. But the real problem began when the bridge reached the Krishnanagar-Kesari Khera crossing.
Why Did Construction Stop?
At this crossing, there were houses and shops already built on the land where the bridge was supposed to go. The people who owned that land hadn’t received any money (compensation) yet, so the work couldn’t move forward. Instead, workers continued building the other parts of the bridge. That’s why it now looks like the bridge ends in the middle of nowhere, right into someone’s home. Even the iron rods from the bridge are seen sticking into the building wall, making it look like the flyover was built right through it.
What Happened After the Video Went Viral?
After the video got attention, the Public Works Department (PWD) stepped in. On June 28, a team of six officials measured the land of 31 property owners in that area. To solve the issue, they decided to give compensation at double the normal land rate. Earlier it was Rs 3,620 per square metre, but now it’s Rs 7,240 per square metre.
