Ghaziabad Viral Video: Uttar Pradesh is back in headlines over yet another questionable incident that left people concerned over the safety and security of people in the state. Two masked men reportedly snatched a woman’s gold chain after she opened her residence’s gate after hearing the doorbell. One of the miscreants was already ready with a scooter while the other one did the deed. As soon as more family members rushed to the gate, the men ended up fleeing in their scooter. The incident was captured on the CCTV camera that was installed nearby, the footage of which was later shared on the internet, which went viral among netizens.
As the clip went viral, the UP Police took note of it and updated on the matter. According to the police, a case was registered at the Shalimar Garden Police Station, whereas an investigation is underway.
The UP video, after getting shared, went viral and pulled many reactions. Most people found the incident problematic and raised questions about the safety and security in the state, while the rest demanded quick action.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘SachinGuptaUP’. The post was captioned, “In Uttar Pradesh, women can go out wearing jewelry even at 12 in the night- In Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, a woman was robbed of her gold chain at the gate of her house in broad daylight.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled 355K views from people.

“In connection with the above case, a case has been registered at Shalimar Garden police station. Continuous efforts are being made by forming teams to arrest the accused and recover the goods. Further legal proceedings are underway,” read the response by the UP Police.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “A woman was robbed, her belongings were snatched at the gate of her house, the fear of law was removed from the minds of the miscreants,” a user said. “Go to any state in the world, everywhere it is written that the passenger is responsible for his own luggage,” added another.
“The statement that ‘women in Uttar Pradesh can go out wearing jewellery even at 12 in the night’ and the theft of a gold chain from a woman in broad daylight in Ghaziabad raise serious questions about security,” added another. “The situation is very bad, people are not scared at all,” commented a fourth user.
