Gujarat Viral Video: In yet another questionable incident that raised concerns over status disparity and related violence in the country, a drunk trio ended up brutally beating up a society security guard in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. The brutality was captured on the CCTV camera installed nearby, the footage of which later made it on social media. As per the viral post, the incident unfolded in Ahmedabad’s ‘Kautilya 99 society’ on September 24. The matter was triggered after the guard allegedly asked the trio to park their vehicle on the side of the road. In the footage, the three were seen abusing and asking the guard to come out of the little control room. Eventually, the accused managed to drag the security guard out and ended up beating him up on the road.

The Gujarat video went viral and pulled all kinds of reactions from people. Most found the trio’s behaviour questionable and demanded action against them, while the rest expressed concerns over increasing violence against poor people.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘JournoJayesh’. The post was captioned, “Saying "This is your father's road", the woman abused the guard and then the man and woman beat up the security guard; the CCTV is from last night. It is alleged that the security guard in front of Kautilya 99 society asked to park the car on the side and the woman and man in the car pulled the guard out of the cabin and beat him up, it is also alleged that the woman and the man were drunk. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “It's crucial we respect each other, regardless of our roles. Let's remember kindness and understanding can prevent such regrettable incidents,” a user said. “What is happening, why people are becoming aggressive?” added a second person.

“It's infuriating to see more and more incidents where rich people are hitting guards and thinking they can get away with it just because they're rich and privileged. This sense of entitlement is outrageous. No one, regardless of gender, or status has the right to hit another person and act like they're above the law. Everyone needs to be held accountable for their actions, plain and simple,” added another.
