Viral Video: A questionable video from Hyderabad recently went viral on the internet, where a woman encountered an intruder inside her house. Immediately rushing into action, the panicked owner took out her camera and began to record the man, along with shouting for help and screaming at the man. Realising the situation, the intruder began to leave the house and ended up jumping from the building’s second floor, before escaping the area. The viral video left people scared and concerned over the matter, while some also concluded that the intruder was probably under the influence of drugs. However, it was later discovered that the poor man, in actuality, was mentally challenged, and mistook the stranger’s house as his own.

As soon as the video went viral, the police intervened in the matter and clarified that the mentally challenged patient was not a criminal. The incident, as per the police’s clarification post took place on March 01. Reportedly, the man was later admitted to a hospital by his family members. 

The woman’s video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘TeluguScribe’. The post was captioned, “Beware of strangers! A woman chases away a suspicious intruder. Nizampet - Bachupally In Bachupally, a suspicious person entered the house. While recording the video, the person jumped from the 2nd floor and ran away while asking who are you.”

“The unknown person who entered into the house is insane and mentally retarded, his name is Venkat, R/o Chandanagar, on 01.03.24  came to his relatives forgot the route and accidentally entered into others house, later family member admitted him in Asha mental health hospit,” read the official’s clarification post. 

The video went viral and gained mixed reactions. Some pointed out the truth about the patient, while the rest, who were unaware, assumed that the man was intoxicated. The post was shared yesterday and pulled 251K views from people.

Taking to the comment box, people shared their take. “The same incident happened in our house yesterday.. I complained to the police.. He ran away before they came.. Something is happening in some colonies in Hyderabad. They should be careful,” a user said. “Lord, how many things are happening in this great city? The other day, a burglar was found stealing in the lower portion of our house in broad daylight,” added a second person. 

“Translation:- Bhai nashe mein tha (He was intoxicated),” added a third user. “We don't know but Inka hoga kch matter apna (Might be their own personal matter),” added another. “seems scared and so hiding from someone,” pointed out another. “He jumped from 2nd floor and ran away like nothing happened,” said another.
