Mumbai Local Viral Video: A disturbing video from Mumbai has grabbed everyone’s attention online. It shows a few women not inside the local train, but hanging on to the footboard from the outside while the train was moving. One woman was heard screaming, and another quickly turned her face away after noticing she was being filmed.
The clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the page 'Mumbai Railway Users.' According to the post, the Kalyan Ladies Special was delayed by 40 minutes, and due to the rush, the women had no choice but to travel this way. The train runs between Kalyan and Mumbai CST.
As the video spread online, Railway Seva, the official help account for train passengers, took note of the issue and replied: “For necessary action escalated to the concerned official @Drmmumbaicr.”
The incident has sparked a debate on social media. Some people blamed the delay and poor crowd management, while others questioned the women for risking their lives. But one thing is clear: this shocking scene highlights how unsafe and stressful daily travel can be for women in Mumbai's local trains.

"Mumbaikars are fighting their own war, the government of Maharashtra is hardly concerned," a second user added. "Mumbai local must have automatic doors, as so many lives are at risk. An operation sindoor is also wanted in Mumbai locals to close doors before leaving the station," a third user added.
"This happens every day, sir, all trains were delayed by 10-15 minutes... No one from IR/CR has been able to correct it for more than a year... It's a BIG Question mark on ability & Intention @drmmumbaicr @AshwiniVaishnaw," added a fourth user. "We are so busy that this kind of thing becomes usual to us, we don't do anything, and expect the government to act. Govt will act only when there is some sort of action from our side," added another user. "What is happening nowadays, daily local trains are running late, and after asking on social media, there is no answer from the railway authority?" added another person.
