Pune Woman Washes Eyes With Urine Viral Video: In a video that has stunned social media, a woman from Pune has revealed her unusual morning routine, washing her eyes with her own urine. The video has gone viral and left the internet sickened. Nupur Pittie, who calls herself a “medicine-free life coach,” shared the video on Instagram, which she probably deleted. In the clip, she is seen pouring her "fresh, midstream morning urine" into her eyes, claiming it helps with irritation, dryness, and redness. She proudly titled the video "Urine Eye Wash — Nature’s Own Medicine."
Renowned liver specialist Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, better known online as “TheLiverDoc,” shared the video on X and warned people against copying such behaviour. He wrote, “Please don't put your urine inside your eyes. Urine is not sterile. Boomer aunties trying to be cool on Instagram is depressing...and terrifying.”
Doctors have explained that urine is a waste product, mostly water, yes, but it also contains harmful substances like ammonia, urea, salts, toxins, and leftover medicines. Putting such waste in the eyes can upset their natural balance and even lead to serious infections.

The video shared on X (Formerly Twitter) yesterday garnered 467k views from people. The bizarre practice has sparked massive backlash. While some viewers called it “unbelievable,” others demanded medical help be given to her. One user wrote, "Why don’t people understand that it’s a biological process to release the chemical waste, and it will harm them to use it in any way." "The human body is very, very pro-survival. If urine were so useful to the body, it wouldn't throw it away. These dehatis are literally collecting the body waste and trying to reuse it. I mean, what kind of poverty mindset is this? " a second user added.
"You should take legal action against such people who spread misinformation like this using urine(a waste)for health benefits," added a third user. "I went to get my eyes checked, and the doctor told me not to let the water get inside my eyes. "Always close your eyes while washing your face,"- her words. Just telling the sane people," wrote the fourth user. "How come these people are so confident about it. I mean, I just saw it and started feeling awkward," added a fifth user.
"I especially love their choice of music to make it sound like a divine, serene, and right thing to do... complete with that sweet chime of a bell used in devotional songs. Super marketing," added another user. "This is getting serious, the love for urine, it may be human or animal, someone was healing a bone the other day. What kind of society are we building?" another user added.
