Qutub Minar Lights Up For G20 Summit: With Delhi dolling up to welcome G20 delegates and some of the most powerful leaders from across the globe for the much-awaited summit, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned as far as decoration is concerned. From renovating several government structures to re-painting the national capital, the Government has taken several measures to make Delhi more presentable. This also includes lighting up some prominent places, including the popular monument Qutub Minar. Recently, the monumental pillar was lit up with a colourful light show, but the response from the netizens was something the authorities didn't see coming. Taking to social media, people heavily criticised the light show and reminded each other of Qutub Minar's natural beauty.

India got the G20 presidency last year from Indonesia. Since the nation got the presidency, it hosted several meetings and invited delegates from all across the world. Now, India will host the G20 Summit in Delhi from September 08 to September 10. So far, the country has been hailed for its successful hosting of the G20 meetings in the last few months.

Qutub Minar is one of the most beautiful monuments of India. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site in south Delhi.

Taking to the internet, people expressed their disappointment with the lighting on the Qutub Minar and called it 'too much' for the occasion.

“The Qutub Minar looks like it’s going start doing Garba any moment now,”  a user said.

“Reducing Qutub Minar to a tacky Murthal dhaba. The G20 guests should be suitably mortified,” added a second person.

“Which Qutub Minar lighting is better? Normal Days G20 Summit,” wrote a third netizen.

“This is hideous, robbing a familiar loved Delhi landmark the Qutub Minar to a Gujarati dandiya decor,” said a fourth.

“What the hell happened here? I mean Qutub Minar is looking like it’s going to start doing Garba any moment now,” added another.

“Is this Burj Khalifa or Qutub Minar?” asked a sixth.
