NYC Heatwave Viral Video: A woman’s stylish day in New York turned into an unexpected mess and the internet can’t stop talking about it. In a TikTok video that’s now gone viral, she showed how her handbag melted right onto her shirt during the extreme heatwave that’s hit parts of the US. The woman explained in the video that the heat was so intense, her bag began to soften and stick to her clothes. To make things more surprising, she revealed it was a Coach bag, a popular luxury brand. At one point, she even showed her phone screen flashing a fiery 99°F as the current temperature.

The video quickly made its way to Reddit, where it exploded with views and comments. The caption read, “So how about that heatwave y’all?” That single line was enough to spark a flood of reactions, jokes, and debates.

The post shared on Reddit two days ago received 5.2k upvotes from users. While some users blamed the poor quality of the bag, others saw it as a warning sign of how dangerously hot summers are becoming. Many couldn’t believe the heat could do that to a handbag, real or fake. One user wrote, "Just because you paid a lot doesn't mean it isn't cheap shit. Designer brands are famously awful. Brand recognition is more often than not just a signal that you are being ripped off."

"Fun fact: I work with handbags and there’s actually a specific production of Louis Vuitton handbags that do this from 2013-2018 where the casing will melt all over. So, not essentially fake bags do this, but just bad production in most cases," a second user added. "99? It’s hotter all over the country, and people’s bags aren’t melting. Don’t buy chemical trash," a third user added. "Coach has non-leather purses, which can be a real Coach purse or also be a synthetic material. It's probably that "coated canvas" material they sell," added a fourth user.

"I’m from Texas, and when I saw 99 degrees I was like “HA!!! 99?! That’s NOTHING!! Try 110 degrees THEEEEN get back to me!” I remember a few years back the iPhone weather app showed our local weather as 128 degrees!" added another user. "Do you genuinely think Coach makes leather bags that melt? It's been 99+ degrees every single day this summer where I live, lmfao, that bag is fake as hell," wrote another.
