Delhi Metro Viral Video: A quiet late-night metro ride turned into a disturbing experience for a Delhi woman when she stepped into the women’s coach around 11 PM, only to find it mostly occupied by men. The woman had chosen the women’s coach, hoping it would be a safe space, especially during the night. But what she saw left her shocked. There were barely two or three women in the entire coach, while most of the seats were taken by men. Feeling unsafe and unsettled, she decided to share her experience on Instagram.

In her now-viral post, she shared a video and wrote, “Delhi Metro | Women’s Coach | Around 11 PM. Sharing something I personally experienced two nights back. I took the last metro in Delhi and chose the women’s coach, thinking it would be a safer space. But when I entered, there were men sitting inside. And honestly, it felt really unsettling. At that hour, all I wanted was to feel a little more secure... but that moment completely shook that sense of safety.”

She further questioned the whole idea of reserved coaches, writing, “I know everyone has their reasons, but as a woman, it made me quietly wonder. What’s the point of a reserved coach if it can’t offer what it promises, especially late at night? Not here to blame anyone. Just sharing how I felt, because maybe someone else has felt this too.”

Her post, shared by the Instagram handle ‘negi.aditi_’, gathered over 2 million views in just two days and started an important conversation. Many users said they’ve faced similar situations in the Delhi Metro and called it a regular problem. Others demanded stricter checks, especially during late-night hours.

"Men need to understand that THE WOMEN'S COACH IS MADE FOR A WOMAN TO FEEL SAFE! Bhai, we don't know whose intentions are right and wrong, our families literally wait for us to reach home safe, and our work demands working late hours as well. Kindly sit in the normal coach and let us breathe and feel safe and easy. The uneasiness caused by such acts is literally something I cannot express here. And this is basic laws, what's wrong with y'all?" a user wrote. "Yk this happened one day when I was in ladies coach, I just simply asked them to leave and when they pretended not to hear, I asked 'Aap Ladies hain kya? Kyunki ye toh ladies coach hai????' They left immediately," a second user added.

"You should've called the metro helpline number, men dont understand personal space, and won't go unless you call them out," added a third user. "Why are the men in comments defending the actions? Was getting a seat so important to them that they actually sat on the seats reserved for ladies in the ladies' coach? None of the men shown in the video seems like a senior citizen who might need the seat. I know the seats were empty, but rules are rules. Shame on such men," added a fourth user.
