Viral Video: It seems like the whole of Northern India has turned into an ‘oven’. It might not exactly be a strong ‘oven’ to actually bake people or something, but the rising temperature inside the said ‘oven’ is surely resulting in deadly heat strokes and other heat-related casualties. Amid all this, reports of the temperature crossing the 50-degree Celsius mark in Delhi recently went viral on social media, followed by some very questionable videos. Out of all the videos, the one that stood out the most was where the water was seemingly ‘boiling’ inside a roof tank, all because of the overbearing ‘heat’.
The clip began to heavily float on the internet after being shared, creating panic among the public, only to later get tagged as a ‘fake’. Yes, it turned out, the ‘claim’ was an absolute fake as water can never boil at 50 degrees Celsius, keeping in mind its boiling point; 100 degrees Celsius.
People began to react to the video and pretty much debunked it in the comment section. Most called the bubbles a result of a connected pipeline at the bottom of the tank, while the rest called it a malfunction.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘ssaratht’. The post was captioned, “Heat in Delhi is making water boil.” The video was shared four days ago and pulled 825K views from people.

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media. Most people called the claim wrong and recalled the boiling point of water, which was 100 degrees Celsius and not 50 degrees Celsius.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Since when has water shifted its boiling temperature from 100°C to 50° ??” a user said. “And there are takers for this as well, at least I thought not Twitter,” added a second person.
“Please respect your 34k followers and stop posting such misleading videos! 1. A Water tank with water never boils like this at just 50-degree heat. 2. The video is of water filling and not boiling. 3. Use your own wisdom first before posting. Water boils at 100 degrees plus if it starts boiling like this, these polymer tanks will go out of shape first due to such heat,” added another.
“Yes, it's damn hot. I think it's an overflow of Water from the tap connected to the Tank. Technically this White Tank will reflect Heat, Will the water get heated to 100 degrees Celsius (Boiling Point of Water)? But, it's a possibility, considering the Rock & Sand gets very Hot,” added another.\
