Viral Video: Despite them working hard, cracking exams, and whatnot, the reputation of government school teachers is not exactly commendable across the country. And understandably so, as instances of some of them acting highly unprofessional have surfaced on social media from time to time. Now, adding to the list, another video went viral, where a government school teacher in Chhattisgarh was drinking alcohol while on duty. The teacher in question, blatantly ignored the camera, students, and the staff members, as he continued to pour a glass of liquor for himself after arriving at school. The video went viral and triggered all kinds of reactions against the man. The date of the incident was not confirmed. 

The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Sudhir_mish’. The post was captioned in Hindi, which roughly translates to, “Keep doing "Repost" until fired. This teacher is 'playing' with children's futures by openly drinking alcohol in school. Video of teacher “Santosh Kewat” in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh goes viral.”

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media. Most people chastised the teacher’s behaviour and the rest tagged higher authorities and demanded the officials to take action against the said teacher. The post was shared two days back and pulled 101K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Dear CM @vishnudsai, Edu Minister @brijmohan_ag, kindly take strict action here. Our schools are the cornerstone of education. Dismissing this teacher would set a necessary precedent and ensure our children receive the quality education they deserve,” a user said. “@vijaysharmacg sir look at the matter and permanently suspend him,” demanded another. 

“@vishnudsai @ChhattisgarhCMO This sir is saying as if this is a school built by his father. Sir, take immediate cognizance of the matter and take appropriate action because the school is called a temple of education, and consuming alcohol inside the temple is a crime under the law. Is,” said a third person. 

“This person is either mad or he has the blessings of some leader due to which he has no fear of the administration. The concerned officer should take immediate action on this and dismiss such a characterless person because he neither took care of the school children nor his female colleague,” said a fourth.
