A video of an octopus trading a plastic cup with a sea shell surfaced online. The heartwarming trade took place between the octopus and a sea diver. The post went viral as the netizens loved the cute interaction between the diver and the animal.

The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘CCTV IDIOTS’. The post was captioned, “A diver helps an octopus trade his plastic cup for a seashell.”

The video showed a tiny octopus that was resting on a sea shell, while most of its body was covered by a plastic cup. The eight-legged animal held the cup tightly. The video then showed a human’s hand entering the frame, that kept another shell in front of the animal. The octopus showed no interest in the new shell. The human then kept several other sea shells in front of the tiny one so that the new shell can be traded with the plastic cup. Finally, the octopus selected one of the sea shells and left the cup behind.

The video went viral and the netizens loved the heartwarming interaction between the animal and the sea diver. Many netizens dubbed it a fair trade and also lauded the person’s efforts to clean the ocean. The video was posted on August 16 and has received 135.8K views.
