Getting lucky, some tourists in the UK escaped a horrifying accident after a cliff fell in Dorset’s West Bay on August 8. The South West Coast Path above the cliff in West Bay was closed following the incident, according to Dorset Council UK. No casualty was reported, although a lot of people were enjoying in the beach, which was right below the cliff. The matter was brought to light after the official X handle (formerly Twitter) of Dorset Council UK shared a video of the incident. The video went viral and the netizens were left shocked over the incident.

The post on the social media site was captioned, “Rockfalls and Landslips can happen at anytime. These people had a lucky escape. The South West Coast Path above the cliff at West Bay is currently closed.”

In the video, the edge of the cliff was seen falling at the beach that had a few people. The tourists started running to safety after the cliff fell. The beach was soon filled with sand dust and other debris from the fallen cliff.

The video has gained 115.7K views since August 10. Many netizens inquired more about the incident through the comments, while others were relieved that no one was hurt. Taking to the comment section, the netizens shared their views.

“Did this happen recently?” asked a user. “Those closest seem to already have cameras out. Were they trying to film a fall up close?” said a second person. “Oh my goodness. Peak holiday season and no one hurt is a miracle,” joined a third. “They just broke Usain Bolt's record,” added a fourth. “Heed the warnings the cliffs are very active and landslips can occur at anytime,” said a fifth.

The post was later reshared by Jurassic Coast Trust which read, “This recent footage shows the dangers of cliff falls. We urge you to be cautious and not to put yourself or your family at risk. If you are in these areas, stay away from cliff edges and do not sit at the base of cliffs. Also, follow official signage instructions.”
