Viral Video: A video that’s now grabbing attention online has sparked outrage, showing what many are calling a shameful misuse of power inside a train. In the clip, a ticket examiner (TTE) is allegedly seen taking money from an elderly passenger, leaving the internet furious. The video was shared by a Reddit user on the 'r/IndianRailways' subreddit with a fiery caption, "Extreme vulgar act | What a level looting from poor innocent old man | Pulled the whole cash."
The video shows the elderly man offering a few notes. But instead of accepting them, the TTE allegedly grabbed all the cash he was holding. After the man protested, the TTE is seen pausing briefly, and then returning only one note. No train name or location was mentioned in the post, and the identity of those involved remains unclear.
The video has now gone viral, and once again, the spotlight is on corruption in Indian Railways, especially involving vulnerable passengers.
The post, shared a few hours ago, received many comments from Reddit users. While many asked for strict action against the TTE, others supported his action. One user wrote, “If this case might be about Rs 100 bribe, it is enough if we normalised bribing. But what is this looting? Pulled the whole amount from the old man’s hand and, in return, gave him a note.” "
"What help? He was without a ticket.. actual fine would have been at least twice the bribe, in some cases, 1 day in jail," a second user added. "Bro, the old man standing in a reserved coach is a mistake, and yes, he deserves to be punished. But there's a process wherein he should be fined by writing on a ticket, and the guy paid the penalty. That penalty money goes to indian railways in such a case. Here, the TTE is literally snatching money from his hand, and then, after he begs, gives one note back to that old guy, which means it's literally going into his pocket," added a third user.

"Both people are in the wrong here, but the authoritative figure here isn't the old man; it's the one who took the bribe. People without a ticket know they can easily bribe them, so they do," a fourth user wrote. "Ban fat people from government jobs, noticed a lot of greed and corruption in fat people," wrote another user.
