It might not make sense in the rest of the cities, but in Bengaluru, attending Zoom, Team or other work meetings while also ‘multitasking’ has become a thing. What makes it unique to the city, however, is that this ‘multitasking’ has hardly anything to do with office work ONLY. Social media, by now, has witnessed way too many videos where Bangaloreans were seen attending office meetings while doing anything and everything.

Adding to the list, a new incident recently came forward, where a woman was allegedly attending a team meeting while shoe shopping at a store. Of course, the post went viral but hardly surprised anyone. The post was shared by an internet user, who expressed his shock, along with a picture of the woman holding her laptop while standing in front of a variety of brand new shoes.

The post widely went viral soon after getting shared. Most netizens found the incident hilarious, while some dubbed it ‘common’ for people in Bengaluru. Many also chastised the woman’s work ethics and called such incidents one of the reasons why many companies revoked their Work From Home option for employees.

The post was shared on the social media handle X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Kaey_bee’. The post read, “Today in ⁦@peakbengaluru⁩, I saw a person shoe shopping while attending a team meeting on her laptop.”

“Day by day I'm more convinced to never visit Bangalore,” a user said. “These are the kind of people who made companies rescind Work From Home policies. Such a sad state. It creates an impression that people in India have no work ethics,” added a second person.

“Deciding which shoe to throw at organizer of such useless meetings,” commented a third user. “My only thought is someone should introduce them to this unique invention called Bluetooth headphones,” commented a fourth person. “Could have been done on the phone - both - the meeting and the shoe shopping,” added a fifth netizen. “This shows exactly how toxic the workplace and the managers and founders must be,” joined another.
