UP Viral Video: Consent- a basic human right that unfortunately does not get the value and respect that it should receive- no matter what country, religion, tradition, or culture- is only fading away into being a mere text in textbooks around the world. Despite humanity moving forward with more education and technological advancement, consent is something that is only witnessing a setback, especially when women are involved. Exemplifying something similar, a video was shared on social media, which went viral. The clip showed a stage dancer being forcefully hugged by a little boy. The scene surely looked uncomfortable, however, no one around the duo tried to intervene. It was the dancer herself who had to resort to some action, which finally led to the much-needed ‘result’.
Pushing the boy away, the dancer began to slap the kid repeatedly. The incident left many on the internet satisfied, as they called the woman’s actions befitting. The incident reportedly took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau, whereas the date could not be confirmed.
The UP video went viral and received countless reactions. Most people criticised the crowd and recalled the state’s centuries-old ‘golden days’. Many called the slaps a perfect lesson for the kid.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘gharkekalesh’. The post was captioned, “Satisfaction Level.” The video was shared today and pulled 346K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “UP and Bihar are states having large cultural and ethnic diversity whether it be Ayodhya, Mathura, Kashi, and many more Bihar is a state that was a huge educational emperor which includes Nalanda University. It's so bad to see the kids from these states doing this,” a user said.
“Imagine from her perspective, a foreigner who came here for a living, doesn't have any idea about Bihari orchestras, wouldn't have thought that this would happen to her. A good lesson for the kid. Just because she is dancing there, doesn't mean she is some commodity,” added another. “Once upon a time, these areas belonged to Magadh, Kasi, and Panchal.... it's so sad to see,” added another.
