Viral Video: Social media is full of videos where young couples never fail to give ‘ideas’ as far as coming up with ‘creative ways’ to hang out is concerned. From remote areas to historical monuments, there are plenty of ‘questionable’ places that young Indian couples have turned into their ‘go-to’ spots. In a similar manner, a video of a young couple getting 'caught' hanging out in a forest at night was shared on social media, which went viral. However, more than the couple, who were pretty much just enjoying their right to freedom, it was the police officer’s ‘schooling’ that triggered headlines. Most people dubbed the incident a classic case of ‘moral policing’, while the rest blamed the officer for making the video just to gain likes and views on the internet.
Moreover, as per some comments on the viral post, the officer also has a YouTube channel, due to which many believed that the entire thing was either ‘fake’ or was overly ‘exaggerated’. Meanwhile, some sided with the officer and backed his actions. The date and location of the incident could not be confirmed.
The post was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘RealMaxtern’. The post was captioned, “Even he can crack UPSC? Why can’t you?”

The video went viral and received all kinds of reactions. Most people called the recording 'uncalled for’ and pointed out the possibility of the video being a ‘fake’ as the officer has a YouTube channel, while the rest dubbed the police’s action ‘unnecessary’ and blamed him for ‘moral policing’. Some, on the other hand, sided with the officer and called his actions correct. The post was shared three days back and pulled 12K likes from people.
Taking to the comment box, people shared their take. “Sab social media ke lie (All this is for social media),” a user said. “This officer is so famous in Chhattisgarh,” said a second user. “Are Bhai kisi historysheeter ko pakdo kya camera lekar chillane lagte ho (Go and catch some history sheeter, why are you wasting time shouting in front of the camera?)” said the next.
“Right to freedom of movement throughout the country is your fundamental right,” added a fourth person. “Most hated IPS in India,” said another. “Government should take some action against these bureaucrats for engaging in PR during duty,” added another.
“He's an IPS officer, and instead of catching real criminals, he does moral policing of two adults who have the right to travel. He's not only moral policing them but also making them feel like they committed a crime. Your is duty to make place safe to travel not to moral policing,” added another.
