Viral Video: There is a clear 50/50 type percentage of love and arranged marriages in India. With that said, love marriages where desi couples go out of their way to convince their parents for the match is also quite common in the country. With that in mind, it seems like this young girl failed to convince her mother to accept the boy she chose, as something completely out of the blue happened at the wedding. A video was shared on social media, where the young girl and her chosen groom exchanged wedding garlands during the Jaimala ceremony in front of the crowd. As soon as the two exchanged the garlands, the bride’s mother went ahead and began to hit her daughter with a cricket bat. The woman was then stopped by other guests at the wedding.
The exact date and location of the incident could not be confirmed. The video, after getting shared, pulled many reactions. Most people found the incident hilarious and pulled many jokes, while the rest were more concerned about the couple’s young age. Many also commented on the mother’s disagreement.
The wedding video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’. The post was captioned, “Kalesh During Love Marriage (Mother got angry during her Daughter Marriage).” The video was shared a few days ago and pulled 342K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “It seems that the girl's parents forbade these two from getting married. When everyone is not on the same page, you don't witness a boring wedding,” a user said. “Had Aunty been sent to the women's cricket team, we would have won today. She came to hit a straight cover drive,” added another.
“When love is in the air but the mother’s mood is in the basement—wedding drama just hit a new level!” commented a third person. “Emotions run high as mother's anger erupts at daughter's wedding,” commented a third person. “Understandable! Mothers often struggle to let go, especially during significant life events like weddings. Love and concern can manifest as anger,” added another.
