Viral Video: Completely dominating the streets in Russia, an Indian woman went viral for roaming around in a typical Marathi getup, getting people's attention seemingly in a good way. The woman was in a Nauvari, which is a Maharashtrian saree that is typically more lengthy than a normal saree. The woman, Sulekha Padalkar, also had a few pieces of jewelry, along with on-point makeup, that only made her look like a beautiful Marathi woman. A video of the same was also shared on social media, which left people impressed. Desis especially loved the confidence the woman displayed and lauded her unique way of embracing her culture and ‘roots’. As per the woman’s Instagram bio, she is an MBBS student studying in Russia’s Northern State Medical University.
The video was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘Sulekha Padalkar’. The post was captioned, “Marathi look in Russia.” The video was shared a while back and pulled 782K likes from people.

The video, after getting shared, went viral on social media. Most people loved the woman’s confidence and pulled chants on Marathi getup, while the rest pointed out that people around her hardly ‘cared’ or reacted.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Glad to see that those people are minding their own business,” a user said. “Keep roaming in India like this, what is the use of showing it in foreign countries,” added a second person. “No one cares, it's not India that is Russia there no one cares who knows what they are doing,” added another.
“Indian girls hit differently and each state tradition is a blast. Well I am also Marathi,” wrote a fourth user. “Wherever you go, don't forget our culture, this is the teachings of our Jijau,” added another. “My Maharashtra preserves the throne of Russia too,” added another. “You are looking really beautiful,” added another.
