UP Viral Video: At this point in time, social media has witnessed almost all the possible reasons why a wedding can turn into a full-fledged ‘war’. From fights over ‘gulab jamun’ to clashes over ‘mutton or paneer pieces’, you name it and the internet will surely have incidents to display. However, just when it seemed that the ‘fighting reasons’ were repeating in themselves, another bizarre ‘reason’ ‘entered the chat’. A video was shared on social media, which showed the groom’s and the bride’s side clashing with each other at a wedding event. As per the post, the reason behind the fight was the issue of ‘distribution of dates’. Yes, you read that correct! The incident reportedly took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, but the date could not be confirmed.
The video was quick to go viral, as most netizens found the matter hilarious, while the rest found it bizarre. Many also chastised the crowd for how they acted, while a few tagged authorities in the post and demanded action.
The UP video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘SachinGuptaUP’. The post was captioned, “War for Touch. In Sambhal, UP, dates were distributed after the marriage. Some youths tried to loot the packets of dates. The girl's side objected. A dispute began. Then what... sticks, chairs, belts, kicks, and punches were used. There was a stampede. The police arrived and brought the fight under control.” The video was shared yesterday and received 357K views from people.

pic.twitter.com/sEv1RvbHuT
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “And right when I thought it’s all chill, lmao,” a user said. “It sounds like a classic case of "kalesh" (chaos or dispute) breaking out over a simple ritual. Distributing dates during a wedding ceremony shouldn't be this tense, but it's sometimes the smallest things that spark the biggest dramas, especially in family gatherings,” commented another.
“It seems like these people are fighting not for dates, but for some priceless treasure!” added a third person. “@sambhalpolice @Uppolice Please look into this and take necessary action,” added another. “Bro it's not a kalesh it's a kind of war,” joked a fifth person. “Look at the people who are doing this. Sad, simply education is very important,” added another.
